Sometimes pet ownership doesn’t always look the way we expect it to.
Whether you’ve just brought a puppy home, or you’ve had your dog for years, there can be moments where things feel harder, heavier, or more confusing than they “should” be.
You might find yourself thinking…
If any of these feel familiar, you’re not alone.
And more importantly — there’s nothing wrong with you.
Pet ownership, especially in the early stages, can be far more emotionally demanding than people expect. It’s not just about caring for a dog — it’s about adjusting your life, your routines, your expectations, and sometimes even your sense of self.
That part isn’t often talked about. While there is plenty of support for training dogs, there is very little support for the humans going through it.
That’s why I created The Happy Human Club.
This is not dog training. I don’t teach your dog to sit, stay, or behave. (Although I can share some tips.)
I work with you (and eventually get your dog to sit, stay or behave).
Through coaching, I support you in navigating the emotional, mental, and lifestyle shifts that come with caring for a pet — helping you better understand yourself, feel more grounded, and move forward with greater confidence.
This might be for you if you are:
Feeling overwhelmed or unsure as a pet parent
Adjusting to a new routine or lifestyle
Struggling with guilt, frustration, or self-doubt
Wanting to feel more confident and steady in yourself
Or simply looking for someone to talk things through with
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
While this work often begins with pet ownership, it’s not limited to it.
At its core, this is about understanding yourself — how you think, feel, and respond — so you can move toward a calmer, more intentional, and ultimately happier way of being.
If you’ve just brought a puppy home…
You might be feeling a mix of excitement and overwhelm.
And alongside that, questions you didn’t expect:
Did I make a mistake getting a dog?
Why does this feel so much harder than I expected?
Everyone else seems to be coping — why am I struggling?
Am I doing this wrong?
Why do I feel so overwhelmed all the time?
Is there something wrong with me, so why do I also feel frustrated or resentful towards a dog I’m supposed to love?
Will it always feel like this?
Is something wrong with me?
If you’ve had your dog for a while now…
Maybe you’ve had your dog for a few years now. You’ve built routines, you’ve adjusted, and life has moved forward.
But sometimes you feel something is a little off, or you catch yourself wondering if you could keep doing this. You might find yourself wondering:
Why do I still feel frustrated sometimes?
Why does this still feel harder than it should be?
Why haven’t we quite figured it out yet?
Is this just how it’s going to be?
It’s not always obvious, and it’s not something people often talk about.
But just because time has passed doesn’t mean everything has to feel settled.
